X1775 Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}/7/M18/11/25. To. from Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Mr. Coghill " Mr. Smithdale " Mr. [redacted] " Mr. Coverley, c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} We are expecting Sir Samuel Hoare, the Air Minister, to visit these Works at one o'clock on Monday next, the 23rd inst. It is essential that as many of the test beds should be running as possible, with Condor engines and repair engines etc. Experimental Dept. should have a Supercharger, and the other experimental engines also running. The Shops, Test Houses etc. should be as clean and orderly as possible. It is likely that we shall have to run the aero engines from one o'clock; that is to say, we shall possibly have to ask our workpeople engaged on testing of aero engines to take their midday meal at twelve o'clock and start work at one, so that we can interest the Air Minister immediately he arrives.
