X.4081 - RE SWITCHBOX TAKEN FROM 46-G9.
Answering your PN {Mr Northey} 2/IN/30.8.23. addressed to Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}
On examination of this switchbox, the trouble was found to be due to a faulty contact between one of the switch plungers and one of the spring switch blades, and burning had taken place, due to the arcing in breaking the field circuit in which this particular contact was included.
This has now been rectified and copy of a report from Mr. Brock in this connection is attached.
This is one of the quite early switchboxes. We had a similar case a few weeks back - since then steps have been taken to ensure the recurrence of same, on further production switchboxes, being impossible.
Will you kindly let us know whether you wish the switchbox to be returned.
EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer}
