S/N. By... from PN.{Mr Northey} Copy to Mr. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Sx. PN.{Mr Northey}1/WT20.10.31. Lord Cholmondeley, Chassis, GFT-43. It would appear that this owner has decided that he will have an A.T. rev. counter. You will remember this, with the Waltham type, was stated by us to be simple to fit. The chassis is now at the Coachbuilders (Corsica), and therefore arrangements will be made to fit the instrument there. Lord, Cholmondeley, when here yesterday, was considerably concerned as to the amount of bonnet ventilation being provided, and asked whether the sides of the bonnet would be louvred, as much of his use of the car will be in France, and he is anxious to avoid over-heating. It is of course a fact that the bonnet on this car is fitted with two of the new type flip-flap ventilators on each side of the bonnet, but it is equally the case I fear that the amount of additional cooling to be derived from these shutters will be altogether less than what might have been derived from a louvred bonnet, although of course obviously in the latter case, the silence obtained would be less to an observer listening to the engine. It would appear best perhaps that the bonnet should go through as it is, and then in the event of the owner experiencing trouble with overheating later on, we could discuss what steps then best to take to deal with the point.
