Rolls Royce Limited,
DERBY.

Dear Sirs,

FOR THE ATTENTION OF MR. GRYLLS.

With further reference to the writer's recent conversation with you in Derby on the subject of recommendations of lubricating oil for your Rolls-Royce and Bentley production, you will have already received our letter of the 1st instant which confirmed that we are arranging to mark our packages of Single Shell (Light) and Double Shell (Medium) with "20" and "30" respectively.

The writer understands that when Mr. Watson-Bourne confirmed this to you by telephone, you raised with him a similar query covering Triple Shell (Heavy) to have a "50" marking, so that your recommendations for gear boxes will be in line with that given for engine oils.

Whilst we are quite prepared to mark our packages of Triple Shell (Heavy) with "50", should you wish it, may we point out that purely from a technical view more efficient lubrication would be obtained with the lighter gear oils which are marketed by the majority of the leading oil companies for the lubrication of synchromesh boxes. Such Oils come within an S.A.E.

All offers subject to acceptance by return of post unless otherwise stated
