PHANTOM INDUCTION PIPES. X. 8070 X. 8080

As soon as time permits we shall make designs for some new induction pipes for the Phantom, but I should like you to make tests in advance of the proposed form of pipe, so that we shall know if we are proceeding on the right lines.

The idea of the new pipe is to use two carburetters having long narrow slot entries into two induction pipes feeding the front and rear halves of the engine. The two induction pipes can be connected either with a balance pipe or their own full dia. bore.

The carburetters to be tried with this system should be two of our own 20 HP. model, possibly with larger air valves and high speed throats, and also I think we should test with two vertical Claudel Hobsons, or Zenith triple diffusers.
