Huckerby}25.2.38, we have taken a check of the water level, starting with it filled up to the cap washer seating. It fell rapidly at first and then more gradually, reaching the bottom of the filler spout after 1,300 miles. It remained at this level (when hot) for a further 1,700 miles. It has now been necessary to drain the radiator for work on the engine. We will resume mileage with the water level at the bottom of the filler spout when hot, and observe any further fall of level that may occur. The Bakelite filler cap is proving very satisfactory. ----------------- Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW.{Ivan M. Waller - Head of Chateauroux} Frank. Waller. (handwritten signature) | ||
