S/W. COPY. C11/C14.11.32. Re: 58-WJ. Major Rainshaw Rothwell. Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}/WT17/KW11.11.32. --------------------------------- This is rather an awkward position. We do not want, if we can avoid it, to spend £55 on a car that is nearly three years old and which the customer bought secondhand quite recently. Do I understand that you do not approve of the system of removing the engine feet only, using this as a substitute for the diamond mounting, because presumably this would be a much cheaper way of doing the job than giving him the whole lot ? I note the car is coming in to-day and you propose testing it with the feet removed. Perhaps you would let me know on the 3 o'clock call to-morrow what you think of it, and what your recommendations are. Meantime I am writing to the Inspecting Engineer for the district, asking him to let us know what he knows about this customer. C. | ||
