E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} W. Hives Esq, Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd, Nightingale Road, DERBY. 15th. May 1923. Ref HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}8/LG. Dear Mr. Hives, We are in receipt of your favour of the 14th. inst for which we thank you. We enclose herewith details of the Bench test made with PYNOL and PETROL at the Works of the Associated Equipment Company, Walthamstow. From these figures you will notice that we not only obtained more H.P. but also a decreased rate of consumption per B.H.P per hour. The maximum H.P. obtained with PETROL was 38.26 at a consumption of .765 Pints per B.H.P. per hour as against a H.P. of 40.67 at a consumption of .874 Pints per B.H.P. per hr. with PYNOL. We enclose a set of charts showing the result of a test made by the Beardmore Company in Glasgow on one of their Taxi Cabs. [handwritten over 'Taxi Cabs': Engines] These tests again show an increased power for PYNOL. Also enclosed is a copy of a report made by John Barker Ltd, Kensington in connection with the use of PYNOL on one of their motor vans. | ||
