Herewith I send you copy of a letter from Linus G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} Read, 26, 27 Avenue Chambers, Southampton Row, W.C.1. dated 12th. inst. which arrived here during the holidays. You will note that the letter is written on behalf of the Spreckels "Savage" Tire Co. to draw attention to the fact that said Company are prepared to supply "Savage" tires direct to automobile manufacturers without the intervention of a dealer; in fact they state that their intention is not to market the tires through dealers. It appears to me that if the "Savage" tire is worth consideration at all, owners of cars fitted with such tires would expect to be able to purchase replace tires from any dealer in the country and if they were not available, would be very much handicapped.
