Failures on a Wraith Bumper Chassis after 50 hours of testing on drums.

WRAITH BUMPER CHASSIS

The above chassis has run for 50 hours each end using 3" high cams on the drums.

The following failures have occured:-

Front End on Drums.

1. Engine mounting frame brackets FW.370/1 - 17 1/2 hours.
2. Near side engine mounting rubber casing FW.179 - 17 1/2 hours.
3. Spare wheel carrier brackets DW.128 - 24 hours.
4. Radiator plate LW.644 and bracket EW.530 - 51 1/2 hours.
5. Front suspension spring GW.432 - 51 1/2 hours.
Failure due to electric etching.
6. Top triangular levers. These show slight cracks during magnetic testing.
7. Last bolt securing dash bracket FW.613 to frame. - 17 1/2 hours and 8 1/2 hours.
8. Bolt securing O.S. bumper bar extension FW.468 to spring pot. - 14 hours.

Rear End on Drums.

9. Petrol tank. The baffles FW.535 collapsed and the O.S. strap Fw.529 broke. - 8 1/2 hours.
10. Shock damper connecting tubes Rubbers FW.600. 2 sets were worn out after 22 1/2 hours and 27 hours.
11. Rubber spring bushes. After 50 hours the condition of the rubbers were poor.
12. N.S. rear spring-17 hours.
