X.2512 - CONDENSERS FOR 40/50 CHASSIS.

Answering the first paragraph of your R9/G21.11.21, arrangements for the supply of condensers from outside were made at the time previous to the development of satisfactory production of these items in our own Works. This was to safeguard our position in case our own manufacture should not be satisfactory. As a matter of fact, our own manufacture developed more quickly and satisfactorily than that of these outside condensers so that it has been latterly only that we have used a certain number of condensers of Dubilier make, the order for which was placed quite early on.
These have been supplied to us at a price of 27/6d per condenser, but that order now having been completed, they have later (July 11th) quoted us a new and reduced price of 20/- per condenser in 1,000 lots.
We understand that we have brought the cost of manufacture of our own condensers down to 21/6d.
The condensers received from Dubiliers which have been used have been of course at least as good as our own.
