X374 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Std.20/KW. 3rd September, 1936. Messrs. Frank Wigglesworth & Co.Ltd., Shipley, Yorks. Dear Sirs, Fan Belt for Phantom III Car. We are anxious to use a larger and more powerful fan, running at a higher speed than at present on our Phantom III car, and find that the existing belt drive is inadequate. We are therefore considering the use of one of your Texrope drives, and should like your advice as to a suitable belt or number of belts for this purpose. Attached is a sheet giving the running conditions for the belt drive in question. We should also like to know whether and why you consider your Texrope drive superior to any other similar type of rubber 'V' belt drive. An early reply would be very much appreciated. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
