X 4050. ROY{Sir Henry Royce} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} E.3/HP.3.3.32. re Tyres and Wheels for Peregrine and Bensport. Referring to your memo ROY{Sir Henry Royce}1/MG.2.3.32, we now understand that the Dunlop Co. are going ahead on their own responsibility with tyre moulds for 17" x 6" covers, and that we shall be in a position to try both this size, and 18" x 5¼" for the two chassis in question. The Dunlop Co. it is also understood think that the 17" x 6" will eventually be included in the lists of standard tyres available. It is important to remember that we shall want silent treads for these tyres, and I am not sure if we know at the moment whether these can be obtained even in the 18" x 5¼" size.
