EFC. --- X8783 6. BY/HM{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}3/G.5.3.26. CHASSIS 36-HC. ----------- We have had returned by Paris the P. & R.{Sir Henry Royce} Battery they originally fitted to the above chassis. Paris state they are unaware of the exact cause of the trouble, but presume it is an internal short-circuit. They are unable to confirm this as they wish us to open up the battery ourselves. They state also when emptying the battery a peculiar sediment was noticed of what appeared to be particles of the paste of the negative plates. We have however given instructions to the Stores to send the Battery over to you, together with a bottle of acid, which is presumably the acid taken from the battery. We shall be pleased if you will have a thorough examination made of the battery, and let us have your report in due course. BY/HM.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} [signature] | ||
