STRAIGHT 8 ENGINE.

The pattern for the Conventional 8 engine is being proceeded with, and it is desired to make the upper part suitable for a high power head, as well as the Conventional. Accordingly the aluminium dry-liner straight eight should be detailed as far as the part above a line along the top of the crankcase proper is concerned, so that castings can be made with both the iron cylinder block and the aluminium cylinder block.

The aluminium crankcase will not be entirely suitable, as it will have been designed for C.I, but should the dry-liner experiment be successful, a complete pattern will be made to the aluminium design.

The drawings concerned are :-
PD.308,
PD.313,
PD.316,
PD.321.
