W/P - Sr. c. to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/CWH. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/KW.15.11.34. 20/25 HP. Performance. We understand from London that you are complaining of the performance of your new 20/25 car with the latest type of carburetter. All that we claim for the new carburetter is improved acceleration from 40 m.p.h. upwards and an increase in top speed of 3 m.p.h. Below 40 m.p.h. we do not claim to be better or worse than the standard car. Obviously, differences between similar cars will be sufficient to enable some of the old type 25 HP. cars to beat the new carburetter and vice-versa. We have asked Hancock to get in touch with you as soon as 21-G-IV comes out to France, which will be at the end of this week, and to ensure that your Trials Car is up to standard. He will also try to convince you that it is better than the old type 20/25 to the degree which we anticipate. I am also sending out to Hancock the bumper bar and cross member for the elimination of head lamp movement. The bumper bar is not the right length but it gives exactly the same result as one which extends to the outer edge of the wheel. In conjunction with the cross member it gives exactly the degree of immunity from head lamp and front wing movement that we expect to be able to provide in the final scheme. We shall be very glad to have your comments and criticisms on the results obtained. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
