Re Mr. Thistlewayte (not Captain) Chassis 194-GN - Torquay Rally In answer to Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}2/WE8.2.32, we have discussed this matter and are satisfied that there is no justification for our going to the expense of fitting a high compression head to this chassis, as there are other cars of a similar type in the Rally, and what we do for one we might quite reasonably be asked to do for others, and that we should not be prepared to do. Furthermore, if we altered 194-GN as suggested it might put up a performance altogether superior to the other Rolls-Royce's in the Rally, to the detriment and disappointment of the owners of the other cars. We think it better, therefore, to make no structural alteration and merely tune it up as best you can. Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} | ||
