Dear Mr Whitehead,

Stainless steel.

I beg to acknowledge copy of your letter of the 14th instant to the Works re Sheets. The Works will doubtless be replying directly to this matter, but it will save time if I tell you that we can do sheets up to 20 gauges, in widths of 2' to 2'6" wide. We usually supply them annealed, but you will need to allow for the removal of all scale before utilising same for stainless purposes.

Mr Royce's mention of Sheets reminds me that our penknives are made from sheet steel, and as I happen to have a pen-knife by me made before the embargo stopped production, I would be glad if you would ask Mr Royce's acceptance of it as an illustration of one of the uses to which Stainless sheet has been put. Kindly convey this with my respectful compliments.

Yours sincerely,

S. Ethelbert Wolstenholme
