- 4 - Cam base circle 1.9/32" dia. Cams .500 wide. 7/32" cam lift. Cams are .100 offset from tappets. A.C. Petrol Pump (about 3½" dia. diaphragm) driven off camshaft between cylinders 1 & 2. Connecting Rod. See sketch XLV. 7.500 centres. Forged finish - mild steel. Big end white metalled direct into rod. Shims .006 thick. Note: Big end will pass through cylinder bore. Scoop on connecting rod - see sketch XV. Crankshaft Damper and Fan Driving Pulley. (See sketch XVll) Crankshaft Damper and Fan driving pulley are one unit - crankshaft pinion and damper are keyed on to parallel diameters on crankshaft press fit - no retaining feature. Starter Motor. Bendix type starter motor carried off clutch casing, 4⅜" o/dia. casing x 6¼ long carcase. Dynamo. 4½ o/dia - Belt driven off fan belt Ventilated - speed 1.875 engine speed, ignoring slip. Pulley dia. 3.325 o/dia. Distributor. Delco Remy distributor driven by skew gear from camshaft. Sump. Steel pressing .048 thick with ribbed side ribs 1/32" deep. Two baffles .036 spot welded to bottom and sides, with six half inch diameter holes in each baffle. Six troughs for connecting rods, all in one pressing, spot welded in sump, with an oil jet into each. plate .032 thick Troughs 1" wide 3/4" deep. Feed pipe 7/16" o/dia. Jets 1/4 o/dia. pipes. The two feed pipes are supplied with oil from a central 1/2" o/dia. main. (See sketch XX) Oil Filter - See sketch XVl and XVlll and Pump. Oil Pump is driven from lower end of distributor drive shaft. | ||
