One tappet side there are no core supports, neither are there any on underside on top.

Clutch Casing. See sketches V, Vl{V. Lewis / Mr Valentine} and Vll.

Front Crankshaft Bearing Cap. See sketch Vlll.

Main bearings white metalled on thin steel sheets .064 thick.

Timing Case. See sketch lXA.

Crankshaft.

Solid - machined on pins and journals only.

Balance weights solid on all webs.
(not opposite to crankpins - Packard positions).

Narrow webs 7/8" wide x 3.1/8"

Flywheel. (See sketch lX.)

Flywheel 12.5/8" dia, I.C.

Approx. dia. of starter ring = 13.15/16

Rocker Shaft.

Rocker shaft is .781 dia. in two lengths.

Rockers and pedestals are steel forgings.

Push rod adjustment - see sketch No. Xll.

Rocker Cover.

3/16" Cork joint between rocker cover and head.

Steel sheet pressing .036 thick,

ribbed for stiffness. Ribs .100 deep.

Approx. depth of cover is 4¼"

25" long x 5¼" inside. Held down by two cap nuts.

3 Vent slots in top 1" long x .125 wide.

Camshaft - forged steel.

3 Bearings.

(1). 1.13/16" dia. x 1.27/32 long.
(2). 1.25/32" dia. x 2.1/16" long.
(3). 1.5/8" dia. x 1.3/8" long.

Machined only on bearings and cam profile only.

Oil pump and distributor driven by skew gear in middle of centre camshaft bearing.

Skew gear approx. 1.000 o/dia. See sketch Xlll.

Camshaft Driving Wheel is made of Canadian Westinghouse Micarto (Fabroil type material).

O/C. & mating with steel pinion on crankshaft.

Gears are 7/8" wide. Approx. .325 pitch of teeth, and 20° spiral angle.
