| To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} +212 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}1/KW.17.4.35. Cantilever Pedals for Bentley. ------------------- Production of the above has been held up by Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} until we can produce a scheme to eliminate lost movement between clutch pedal and plate which is permitted by the arrangement detailed on N.Sch.4156. We have determined that the cantilever pedal shaft deflects vertically, horizontally and in torsion, and the alterations shown in sketches Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1923-25 are for the purpose of reducing these deflections. Will you please make one set as soon as possible, as we are anxious that the cantilever scheme should go on production with the minimum of delay. In addition we will require a stay tube similar to FB.1562 only shortened by .550", and a sump detailed on EB.1979, and when ready the parts are to be built up on B-23-AE.
