Further notes re Lithanode Battery.

Further tests of this battery recently completed have shown considerable improvement and my assistant's report JB.59 is as follows :-

"This battery has been in the E.M.S. for 8 months "broken by a series of low and high rate discharges and "showed slight improvement at each step. On low rate "discharge its capacity appears to remain fairly steady, "whilst on the high rate discharge it has shown a "gradual increase, and on the last occasion it has done "exceedingly well in respect to the previous discharges.

"The following is a table of the respective low and "high rate discharges, taken at various intervals during "the battery's life:-

Low Rate. High Rate.
Ampere-hours. Initial Time to
amps. 100 amps.
Routine. {43.0
(39.4 109 3.3 mins. Routine.
50.4 116 2.5 "
44.1 112 4.0 "
46.3 113 8.0 "

"From the above it will be seen that this "battery has improved considerably on high rate "discharge, but has not done so on low rate discharge, "the capacity remaining at approximately 45 ampere-"hours."
