-2- (4) Collapse of seats. AG. read from the 10,000 miles' report that the seats had collapsed. Mr. Roberts said that this was ridiculous and should not occur. (5) Coachbuilt Bodies. HC. raised the point that ordinary coachwork would be fitted to H.I.T? and therefore provision might have to be made for body supports at the present standard points in addition to those required by Park Wards. (6) Frame accuracy and rigidity. Mr. Finney claimed that frames should be held to 1/16 of an inch and that a fixture should be provided to ensure that the frames are accurate. H.C.G. agreed that the limit was a commercial one. It was suggested that rear of the frame might require stiffening up if a body bracket was to be fitted at its extremity. (7) Quality & Price. HC. asked what would be sacrificed in order to get the price down. Mr. Finney said that he did not expect to have to sacrifice anything nor would the body be weaker than the present construction. (8) Programme for H.C. It was agreed that tools for the body would have to be released in January 1939 if 25 bodies were to be ready for the Motor Show. AG. said that if this was the case the 10,000 miles' test to clear the body would have to start in October. (9) Back Door Hinge. AG. said that the rear door must hinge on the back pillar. | ||
