To Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} from Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to EH. c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to Ms. X4554 Bn{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}5/W19.8.19. 40/50 HP. CHASSIS - RE MATERIAL FOR Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}7/NJ11819.SECOND 500 CHASSIS. Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}9/NJ15819. As we have not yet tested the Michelin Disc Wheels and as it appears necessary to place orders for wheels for the second five hundred chassis very soon, we must continue with the use of wire wheels for the second five hundred chassis, and not attempt to make up our minds on Disc Wheels in time to enable Mr. Whitehead to obtain the disc type. We think that the Disc Wheels should be most carefully tested and also that Sales Dept: should have an opportunity of expressing their opinion on appearance and general suitability before a decision to adopt them is made.
