stuff it has proved itself quite as well when used as a Main Bearing as with Big Ends.

Incidentally in certain directions there are increasing tendencies to use Chrome Hardened Shafts. Have you done anything yet at Derby regarding the running of AC.9 Bearings against Chrome Plated shafts? It would be interesting to know whether you have any experience in this direction.
