Re "Kleenwell".

One of our Inspecting Engineers has been recommending owners where it is suspected that the radiator tubes have become choked with deposit, to put two pounds of 'Kleenwell' into a gallon of water and then to run the engine for half an hour on this mixture.

We would be glad to know if you consider there is any danger or special precautions which should be observed.

When asked we have always advised that after this process several changes of water should be made during the next few days, so as to wash out every trace of 'Kleenwell' from the system.

Formerly we have recommended caustic soda, also with the proviso of washing out with several subsequent changes of water.

Is the use of 'Kleenwell' to be recommended for engines with aluminium cylinder heads ?

Your early comments on these questions would be appreciated.
