"Kleenwell" Salts for Radiator Cleansing.

With reference to Hm {Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} /NRC {N. R. Chandler} 25/KW.6.7.28. and Hl2/EA.6.7.28. we feel that there is a possibility of some misunderstanding with respect to these "Kleenwell" Salts.

We wish to point out that two grades of "Kleenwell" Salts are used in these Works.

Grade 1. being supplied to us in the form of flake, and is largely used by Mr. Pendlebury in his cleaning operations before plating. This is of the composition referred to in Hl's note namely 98% Caustic Soda, 2% Potassium Cyanide.

Grade 2. is used largely by Mr. Smith for Radiators and White Metalling. This is supplied in powder form and consists of Potassium and Sodium Cyanides and which contains very little if any, Caustic Soda.

Grade 2. is that always employed by our Radiator Dept. for cleansing radiators which have become blocked up. and we should like to have Hl's views as to the use of this type of "Kleenwell" salts in connection with the washing out of radiators.
