X1356 To Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/TMW. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/TMW2/LG13.12.20. X.1356. RE PETROL SUPPLIED BY THE BRITISH PETROLEUM CO. In reply to your Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}/GEA8/AG26.11.20, We attach herewith our Chemists report on this petrol for your examination. We have also tested it in comparison with Shell No.1 spirit for power and running in the car. We found the power averaged .5% less than Shell, and running in the car there is a distinct tendency to increase "pinking" From a running point of view we do not consider this spirit any better than Mex.
