25.11.20. Re Sample of Petrol submitted from the British Petroleum Company. Distillation:- Boiled at 42.5ºC. First distillate over at 45º. The first 15 ccs. appeared to be slightly cloudy. 80ºC ---------- 15% distilled over. 85ºC ---------- 24% -do- 90ºC ---------- 32.5% -do- 95ºC ----------35.5% -do- 100ºC ---------- 39.8% -do- 105ºC ---------- 45.5% -do- 110ºC ---------- 54.5% -do- 115ºC ---------- 60.5% -do- 120ºC ---------- 67.0% -do- 125ºC ---------- 72.5% -do- 130ºC ---------- 76.5% -do- 135ºC ---------- 80.5% -do- 140ºC ---------- 83.0% -do- 145ºC ---------- 85.5% -db{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}- 150ºC ---------- 88.0% -do- Specific Gravity -- .730. Rectification Test:- Satisfactory. This appears to be a good petrol. B.P. range reasonable and starting at a low enough temperature - 45ºC. HCH. | ||
