SUMMARY OF TEST.
The result of this test shews :-
(1) The carburetter stays and pipes to be an improvement. as regards test bench and hangar test conditions compared with the previous scheme.
(2) The Silchrome valves fitted with wedges are an improvement over present standard.
(3) Modified priming pipe is satisfactory.
The number of water leaks which developed in the jackets is disturbing. We have previously completed 50 hrs. without any leaks, with similar cylinders.
The air-hardened steel is not as satisfactory as the C.H.N.S. for the gears.
