ORIGINAL TO EY. FROM A.J.STENT. SECRET. ST1/M15.8.24. Copy to -CJ- HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} A.{Mr Adams} C. 2. SIMPLIFIED STRIKING MECHANISM. X8/320 We send herewith LeC. 1907 shewing a simplified scheme to take the place of the existing one. The tower carrying the striking lever fulcrum has been eliminated to allow the top of the box to be machined right across in one plane. The new fulcrum and sliding shaft casing consists of an aluminium box to which is bolted a steel tube. The box carries the centring spring in a manner similar to that shewn on LeC.1897. The centres on this drawing have been traced from old blue prints, and they may require slight re-adjustment when being set out at Derby. [Stamp: RECEIVED 19 AUG 1924] [Signature: A.J. STENT] | ||
