SECRET.

Examination of the Cadillac Coachwork.

To get full value out of the test in France we want to strip the Cadillac chassis. We anticipate that to get full value out of the body it will have to be largely dismantled by the Coachbuilders.

In addition to these two jobs we want to get the car on the road again as soon as possible, as it is valuable as the basis of comparison for the SpectreCodename for Phantom III. With a view therefore to saving time, we recommend that the Coachbuilders should pull the body off and then the chassis could either be driven or sent by rail to Derby, where we can do our part of the job. The body can then be refitted by the Coachbuilder who took it off. It is possible that as the dashboard is part of the body on most American cars it will be difficult to drive the car from the Coachbuilders, but we can soon find this out.

We should like to know to which Coachbuilder you are proposing to allocate the job of dealing with this body, and when they will be ready to tackle it.
