R.R. 235A (100 T) (S.H. 159, 11-8-20) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 2800 TO HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}5/M24.7.25. STEERING EFFICIENCIES. X5440 X8430 X52430 We presume that the nut and screw efficiency shewn on page 2. of HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}4/LG21725. is that obtained by pulling at the spring balance with a steady motion, so as to lift the weight. It would be very interesting to us to have a reading of the efficiency in the opposite direction, which would give an idea of the amount of reversibility. It would also be of interest to us to have these figures on the other type of steering nut, namely, the Goshawk type, of which we gave you a scheme some time ago. Presumably also the figures will be given for the more modern big dia. worm, swivelling nuts, etc, as soon as they are available. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
