1128 Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/ML. 30.5.40. H.Sammons,Esq., Armstrong Whitworth Securities Ltd., Kadenacy Department, SLOUGH. Bucks. Dear Sammons, Thank you for your letter of May 28th. Going ahead on development work for a road vehicle engine at Derby is still in the forefront of our experimental programme but, owing to the present gravity of the international situation, we have transferred all our manufacturing facilities over to aviation and repair work, which means that all types of development work are temporarily suspended. If and when the situation eases, we shall undoubtedly revert to our normal experimental programme, therefore, I do not think it would be a waste of time to come up to Derby to discuss the patent situation, because I think we ought to settle once and for all whether we are going to work with you or not. If we are going to work with you we ought to keep in touch with your progress and we can, of course, do a certain amount of design work. Yours sincerely, | ||
