X332 This column is for Name of Person addressed. Mr.Wormald. DATE. 12.4.13. Re. Double Typre Throttle. EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}6/W12413. [Stamp]: W.M. 12 APR 1913 RECEIVED [Handwritten Note]: Throttle diaphragm With reference to the above, which is now standard, I regret that this is not turning out satisfactory on test. When the engine is throttled down, there is a disagreeable singing noise which takes place in the throttle which can only be cured by dismantling the extra flap or "damping" same. I have spent some time on this job and have also had Mr.Ellis' help but we have not been able to cure this trouble without making some change in the existing design. I have also seen Mr.Hives on the matter, but he has not been able to find the original one on which the first tests were made, and with which I do not remember having any trouble of this description.
