To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. c. RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.2/MH.{M. Huckerby}8.2.38. 640 With regard to the matrix unit which you are building up for 27.G.VI car, we have requested a new matrix in order that we can have a second unit with latest pressed tank dipsoldered by Marstons to the matrix, running on the road as soon as possible. In order to avoid the unnecessary cost of buying a new matrix, will you please obtain for this purpose one of the new matrices purchased for the six production cars. The matrix removed from 27.G.VI unit which is perfectly sound, can be exchanged for the new matrix and fitted to one of the six production cars, the tank in this case being attached by hand soldering. The simplest arrangement will be for one of the four units consisting of matrix and bottom tank complete (which RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} is having built up by Marstons) to be used for 27.G.VI and the new bottom tank and used matrix from 27.G.VI to be built up by production to complete their four sets. Will HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} please arrange this with RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} With regard to B.III thermostat units, Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. has supplied the Smith's unit (X.30065) fitted to the first B.III engine and will hand you two further identical units herewith for future cars. Will you please allow us credit for these three units. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. | ||
