The bottom tanks detailed for both above radiators have been designed with the purpose of having them dip soldered to the matrix during construction thus saving cost and avoiding solder in bottom tank. Further, we expect that they will be supplied complete fitted to the matrix by the matrix makers, (we are obtaining cost figures at the moment to settle this). Will you therefore please make assembly drawings showing the bottom tanks soldered in position (as you have done for Ph.III) and instruct that the matrices are ordered with tanks dipped by makers of matrix.(i.e. as in the case of matrix side-plates). The same procedure, of course, will apply on B.50 and on Ph.III when the standardisation sheet (at present being circularised) is completed. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. | ||
