Dear Sirs, We beg to confirm our Mr. Dixon's call on the 8th. instant, and the discussion with your Mr. Mills and Mr. Clarke regarding H.T. Ignition Wire, which shewed signs of cracking after prolonged working. The temperature conditions under which this wire is used would appear to be more severe than we should have anticipated, and we find it difficult to understand why the point has not arisen before. We are, however, confident that we can supply wire which will give you as good, if not better service than you can obtain from other sources, and we are proceeding with the manufacture of two lengths of 100 ft. each, insulated respectively with "Gloverite", and a special grade of V.I.R. which we have recently developed, for use under conditions closely approximating to those which exist in the case in question. In addition to your practical tests we shall be only too pleased to make comparisons, such as standard ageing tests, heat tests etc., on any lengths of cable you may care to submit, against the sample lengths we have put in hand.
