X7360 GRY{Shadwell Grylls} To Br.{T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} from Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. Mr. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/HP.4.8.33. Phantom 2 Sheet Steel Brake Shoes (Front). Herewith is N. Sch. 3799 shewing in the extreme right-hand side a reduced number of rivets for attaching the Zinc-Bonded Ferodo/linings to the existing sheet steel brake shoes. The number and arrangement of the rivets is intended for trial and may be modified. The middle view shews a suggestion for another method of making a welded shoe, and on the left it is suggested that if the zinc-bonded Ferodo eliminate squeaks, the squeak damper shoes might be dispensed with, thereby simplifying the brakes.
