Ab Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} x2924 MINUTES OF A MEETING HELD IN WCR'S OFFICE ON WEDNESDAY. JULY 25th. 1934. PRESENT: LHS.{Lord Herbert Scott}(In the Chair) Mr. Archer. WY. C. Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} F.{Mr Friese} TY. Hn.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Mr. Livosey. Mk.{R. E. B. Meade-King} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Srt. Ty. WCR. 1. LHS.{Lord Herbert Scott} explained that the meeting had been called to discuss ways and means of securing a higher standard for the complete car. 2. WCR. explained the Works have formed the impression that a number of cars having unsatisfactory bodies reach custo ers' hands. He instanced his own car which was delivered to him possessing defects which the Coachbuilders subsequently had to admit existed and which led them to adopt modifications now standardised. He explained the Works have the feeling the chassis is sometimes spoiled by an inferior body and that there exists no organisation such as exists in connection with the chassis for preventing a repetition of technical faults in construction. 3. C. said WCR's car was below the average and that the percentage of complaints of bodies ordered by the Company is not high. The fact that Park Wards, who built the body of WCR's new car, were flooded with work at the time may have had something to do with the troubles from which WCR's car suffered. OVER | ||
