C O P Y. To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/EAG. Herewith a brief summary of the recommended procedure and estimated time required to prepare for the production of four and six light bodies for Silver Phantom chassis. It is assumed that, as these bodies have not yet been produced in quantities, there are no drawings in existence giving sufficient information to enable preparation to be made for economical production and to serve as a record of what has been produced. I have recommended that a material specification should be made which, if used to its full advantage, will help in costingm issue of materials from stores, purchase progress and service. Regarding the jigs which should be made chiefly of timber, it will be necessary to use selected dry materials and plywood (if obtainable) wherever possible. When completed, they should be well coated with shellac or some other material that will protect them against atmospherix changes. The times estimated for making jigs and formers is based on having to make all that will be required; possibly Park Wards have some tools which would be suitable for producing some of the parts so that the time estimated would be reduced accordingly. If they have not already standardised some pressings, it would be time well spent for them to investigate the possibilities of so doing, with the object of making as many parts as possible common to all bodies.
