I attach copy of Mr. Hanbury's note, H1/TB/11.3.20. Will Mr. Hives report on this point after investigating the matter to ascertain what is required. It is not clear at the moment whether we shall be able to stick to the original intention of omitting to grease the existing thick leaf springs, as it appears evident that we shall suffer from squeaking. In any case it is likely that we shall have a considerable number of cars on the road with these springs which will require attention although we hope in the future, with Mr. Royce's suggested modification to overcome this trouble.
