I am afraid we shall not be able to give you much information on the most suitable friction for the new axle to suit English road conditions for several days. PN.{Mr Northey} is taking 8-EX car (the only car on which we have the new axle fitted at present) and we are having to change the engine which prevents us carrying out any tests on the car.

I ran 8-EX car this weekend and the steering is slightly heavier than what I remember of 12-EX. This may be due to the fact that the car is much more heavy at the front: we were using 6.75" tyres.

We expect in a couple of days or so to have another axle which we can try on 98-NK.

We are arranging to fit up 8-EX car which has the big Barker saloon with hydraulic dampers (60/80 lbs.) as you recommend.
