1204 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} 6th May, 1937. Technical Editor, "The Motor", 5-17, Rosebery Avenue, LONDON. E.C. k.{Mr Kilner} Dear Sir, We cannot allow to go unchallenged your article on "Corner-Ability" in this week's issue of "The Motor". We have at Derby a large flat concrete place where one can drive continuously on a corner of 120 ft. radius, or less. We have never been able to achieve an acceleration of .55G. We believe that on a similar apparatus in America .6G has very occasionally been maintained. If sometime one of your engineers is in this part of England during fine weather we should be delighted to demonstrate that corners of .9 or even .75G. are entirely out of the question. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. Not for publication | ||
