.HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} <204 To [redacted] From [redacted] Copy to H.H.E. (for G.S.C.) Sq. Ldr. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Un. Mr. T.S.H. CR.{Mr Cra???ster / Mr Chichester} (Derby) EVD/IH.8.8.34. SUNSHINE ROOF SHIELDS. Bentley and Rolls-Royce Cars. In view of the repeated experience on Experimental Cars of the sunshine roof shield breaking loose from its fixing when the car is driven at speed, and especially due to the recent instance on the Hooper Special Touring Saloon 21-G-4, we have made the attached sketch showing the construction and fixing, which we suggest should be circulated with instructions to all Coachbuilders and Coachwork Inspectors. The Shield should be in 14 S.W.G. Alumium and should have a steel stiffener in the front edge. The front corners should be held down by means of countersunk screws into a metal plate. The rest of the attachment may be by wood screws. EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} ENCL: | ||
