PARIS Dear "Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}", Just a few words about Mr Pierre Louis-Dreyfus's Bentley. On the whole he is delighted with this car, and speaks very highly of it. However, he is asking me to so something about his: BRAKE DRUMS, which tinkle very badly. CLUTCH. He is also asking me to attend to the Clutch, and on this latter point is very insistent. He has all the latest devices, but, as you know, when things are nice and hot, the transmission always jaggers when manoeuvring about. As none of his various other cars have this defect, he insists that we do something. Have you not some of the very latest type clutch plates similar to the Phantom III American type that we could fit to this car? I await your reply with interest, as I shall have to say something to this fellow very shortly. Sr. Handwritten (blue ink): PS are you coming over for the Show? if not I will come to Derby + see you then. I am now in London how + when did you talk about the "air line" car Salamanca has just called in & it! looks very old- | ||
