Re Lodge Plug.

The Lodge plug sent to me has evidently been over-heated and the porcelain cracked. As well as being fused, it seems to be cracked and tumbled off.

When you are experimenting with this job again, you could try some of the old Bosch plugs in which the ring of porcelain is, I think, thicker, though the insulation may not be so satisfactory perhaps, but the porcelain may have a better chance of keeping cool.

I think the plug I have seen should be sent to the Lodge people for an explanation, and advice of what we are to do.

I should test these plugs again when we have reduced the compression to 80 lbs.
