X.24Y8 [Handwritten] [Circular Stamp: RECEIVED] In answer to your memo BY9/P6/5/19 enclosing schemes 372 and F.7264, we send you herewith drawing No. Lec.1089 giving a diagrammatic view of a distribution board arranged in a somewhat different manner from the one you shew. You will note from the drawing that there are two long buss bars, positive and negative. The temporary connections, such as switches, are taken out from the top and permanent connections to lamp etc. are taken out from the bottom of the board. Treating the lamp connections in this manner avoids duplication of connections and fuses. All the positive connections on this board should be painted red, and all the negative should be painted blue or black. Figure 1 shews the general scheme in which the whole of the distributing work is done on the one board, and three switches and an ammeter only are mounted on the instrument board. If it is impossible, however, to get this scheme ready, an alternative one is shewn for use with the standard Lucas switch-box (fig. 2) in which the distributing board deals with all the connections not already provided for by the Lucas switch box. It is naturally desired, however, if possible, to adhere to fig. 1. We note on your scheme that some mention is made of a junction box. We do not comprehend exactly what it is, or what function it performs, and would like further information on (Contd.) | ||
