Start at 10 m.p.h. full throttle level with telegraph post at the corner - speed should increase to 30 m.p.h. at the fourth telegraph post (of left). (2) 1st. TICKNALL HILL. (This is the hill encountered immediately after turning off the Melbourne Rd. for Ticknall). Start at direction post on corner at 20 m.p.h. full throttle. At the third gate on left speed should increase to 40 m.p.h. From this gate to the next large tree on the left the speed should increase another 10 m.p.h. i.e. to 50 m.p.h. (3) 2nd. TICKNALL HILL. (This is the next hill encountered after the 1st. Ticknall Hill (above)). Test starts at 10 m.p.h. full throttle level with the last post of the white railings on the right, speed should increase to 30 m.p.h. at next gate on right. Test finishes at 60 m.p.h. level with the gate on right 70 yds. before a large tree (on left)on the bend before dropping down into Ticknall. This test is timed, the maximum time allowable for the test being 1 min. 6 secs. (4) 3rd. TICKNALL HILL. (This is the short sharp hill out of Ticknall when proceeding in the direction of Derby). Test starts at 10 m.p.h. full throttle at the last corner of the last building on the left; speed should increase to 37 m.p.h. at large tree on the right nearly at the top of the hill.
