1300 19th December, 1940. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /GB.2/ET. W.E. SHILTON Esq., Ferodo Limited, CHAPEL-en-le-FRITH. Dear Sir, Many thanks for the clutch drawing which arrived safely. We will return this to you shortly. We have dispatched the two pulleys for the tank steering belt test to you by passenger train. We also enclose our drawing PL.462 which shows two alternative schemes for jockey pulleys. We may have to increase the centres of the fixed pulleys in the final design, but, in the meantime, we look to you for information on the relative merits of inside and outside jockeys. As agreed during our recent visit, the test conditions will be based on the fact that a set of belts will be required to transmit 30 H.P. continuously and 60-70 H.P. for five minutes in each hour. We naturally want to use as few belts as possible. Yours faithfully, | ||
